Summary of Season 1:
"Hiraga Saito, just your average high-schooler, had just picked up his laptop from getting repaired, as a portal of some kind opened in front of him. Saito`s curiosity getting the better of him, he touched it and was sucked through. At first, Saito had no idea where he was, and was thoroughly disoriented. By accident he was summoned to another world by Louise Françoise le Blanc de la Vallière, nicknamed "Zero Louise", a magician in training whose only ability was it to blow things up.

It turned out that she was in the process of summoning a familar when he appeared instead. In this world where only the nobility is able to use magic and everybody else belongs to the common folk, it was unheard before that a commoner became a familar to a noble. They had to obey the rules though and Saito became Louise`s familar while searching for a way back to his own world.

As Saito became accustomed to his new surroundings, he found out that in this world he had the powers of a Gandalfr, being able to use any weapon at will, while Louise had the power of void, the legendary lost fifth element. Together they helped Princess Henrietta of Tristania to fight off the invading Albion forces which came at a great cost."

Kagome leads a fairly normal life, in spite of her weird family. Her house is a thousand-year-old Japanese temple, and her grandfather talks about the history of the house endlessly. Legend has it that the old well on the temple grounds keeps a vicious ancient monster at bay; Kagome never believed those legends, until now. The well opens up and sucked Kagome inside transporting her to an ancient time of enchanted forests and giant demons.

Kagome is soon confronted by her odd resemblance to Kikuyo, the girl who controlled the magical Shikon no Tama talisman and imprisoned the legendary half-demon Inu-Yasha. In recent years, a secret society discovers a way of implanting demon bodies and body parts into humans, to create hybrids more powerful than the original demons. Hybrid`s standard abilities include faster healing, limited shape modification, the ability to detect other demons and hybrids, and overall enhanced physical prowess. Almost all hybrids are created against their will; they are typically survivors of families attacked by demons. The only exception is the lead character, who volunteered to become a hybrid to avenge her family. The society sends hybrids to towns that can afford their fares to kill demons, although not every hybrid does so willingly (this is implied in the manga.) The society is often strict and harsh; hybrids who break the rules risk being hunted down by their fellow hybrids.
